CIU to Take Part in #GivingTuesday

CIU is taking part in #Giving Tuesday

You’ve heard of Black Friday and Cyber Monday. How about #Giving Tuesday

Celebrated on the Tuesday following Thanksgiving and the widely recognized shopping events Black Friday and Cyber Monday, #GivingTuesday kicks off the charitable season, when many focus on their holiday and end-of-year giving. This year, Columbia International University will be a part of the big day.

On Nov. 29, CIU will open a specially designated website with all tax deductible financial gifts that day going toward funding the tuition of 25 CIU students. Plus, on the days leading up to #GivingTuesday, CIU Alumni Relations is offering free resources when you visit their Facebook and Twitter pages.

CIU Donor Relations Manager Joanna Mower says #GivingTuesday is also a great opportunity to consider a memorial gift or a gift in honor of a loved one.

“When you click on our giving page on Nov. 29, you’ll see the option for making your gift in honor of, or in memory of, a loved one,” Mower said. “It is an excellent way to remember someone who was special to you, or to present a gift in honor of that hard-to-buy-for person on your Christmas gift list.”

You may even be able to double your gift if your employer matches employee or retiree gifts. Check the Double the Donation Directory to find out. You’ll be supporting CIU students who are educated from a biblical worldview to impact the nations with the message of Christ.
