CIU Names New Registrar

CIU Registrar Jennifer L. Booth

Columbia International University has announced the appointment of Jennifer L. Booth as university registrar.  She begins her duties Feb. 1.

Booth comes to CIU from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary (SEBTS) in Wake Forest, N.C., where she served as assistant director of student resources. In that role, she exercised primary oversight of financial aid, ministry referral, and international student services, along with other related duties.  Booth also teaches AP English Language and Composition (online) for Patrick Henry College Preparatory Academy in Purcellville, Va., and has taught courses for The College at Southeastern, the undergraduate studies program at SEBTS.

Booth earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Trinity College of Florida in New Port Richey, and a Master of Divinity degree from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary. She received significant accompanying honors for both degrees.

CIU Associate Provost Dr. Bryan Beyer says Booth is a skilled administrator and a capable leader.

“A good registrar’s office needs to work together to implement established university policy while providing friendly, top notch customer service,” Beyer said.  “Jennifer Booth is a good promoter of a team concept and brings an upbeat, positive attitude to her new role.”

Beyer also expressed his appreciation for Kathy Kroll who has served as interim registrar since spring 2011.

“Kathy has helped us maintain our pace as we sought a new registrar,” Beyer said.  “I’m grateful for her good, steady leadership. CIU will miss her as she transitions to a new ministry role in Florida.”
