When Pastor Steve Jones and his congregation open their new church on Virginia’s Eastern Shore, visitors will be welcomed with a free plate of barbeque. That may not seem too unusual to the community. The church is meeting in a former barbeque restaurant.  

Jones, who graduated from Columbia International University in 1976, says he hopes the church will attract people who may not normally feel comfortable in a traditional-looking church building. Or as Jones told delmarvanow.com, “We are trying to start a church for the wrong people … where the wrong sorts of folks feel welcome.”
